There are two people alive who know this story. I am one of those people. As one of my ex-wives said about 45 years ago your family is like Dallas on steroids except Dallas is fictional, Fells is real. Most of the problems centre around MAF that’s why I avoid him as best I can. I have a family life where there are few problems and no headache.

Note 1. Validity of LJ Fell Will

LJF had a number of Trusts as he was ill with Schizophrenia and on substantial medication. He was in a half way home and usually came out at weekends, Friday to Sunday, MAF,TDSF and CJWF were Trustee. With no expenditure a little cash had built up in the Trusts on which LJF had paid personal tax. His affairs were naturally adminstered through the office where he had a loan account for daily expenses or emergencies. He paid personal tax on this. As I have said a little income went into Trusts. We were advised that as Laurence had the money direct and paid tax on it returns did not have to be completed as there was nothing to show.

LJF had no Will for a long time. On one occasion when MAF had him for the week-end (years before LJF death) his son Mathew (with I assume MAF) must have taken LJF to an obscure solicitor in Worcestershire where his sole beneficiary was...Mathew. I say obscure as he was not the family solicitor which we all used at the time. MAF's Machiavellian traits were being passed on. It was done in secret when LJF was ill. Laurence had his House (£300,000) Pension, and some investments and a small amount of cash in the bank but £90,000+ in the companies.

JPQF and LJF decided to Wales but that was delayed due to MAF for 12 months So when at some point LJF had to go to hospital no thanks to MAF whose attitude was well an occasional spell in hospital will do him no harm having not given LJF his medication. It was an outrageous suggestion. As it turned out LJF 'spell' was almost his death. He had to be rushed to accident and emergency where he almost died. It took JPQF (supported by the companies) a year to get him back from hospital at the end of which he was better than he had ever been for years. He was signed off by his doctors (Compos Mentis).

Let the games begin. Remember LJF was now compos mentis. I can see it now but not at the time. LJF could change his will and did.

JPQF and LJF decided to go to Prestatyn in Wales again and LJF wanted his money. No problem with the companies. LJF got his previously Court appointed solicitors to write to both the Companies and Trusts for his money. As far as the Companies were concerned it was LJF money and CJWF correctly paid it. The Trusts were a different matter.

MAF got solicitors to write to the Trust Solicitors Grove Tompkins to stop payment to LJF. On the other hand I had got

i) Confirmation from LJF Solicitors he would sue the Trustees for none payment

ii) Of my own solicitors Wright Hassle advising me that LJF solicitors were correct. The money had to be paid.

At the Trustees meeting MAF,TDSF, CJWF, Grove Tomkins Solicitors (GT) and Denny the company and LJF accountants at MAF request, Denny saw his presence as adding nothing to the meeting.

Amazingly GT solicitors now declared they were there as an observer (not to give advice) apart from saying MAF should know he had got advice from solicitors. I asked for a copy of the legislation. Apparently, the solicitors did not have a copy and there was none in the building at a solicitor’s office over 3 floors!

TDSF suddenly changed sides and voted with MAF. I voted for LJF to have his funds. MAF said that LJF doctor was useless (and inferred the man was incompetent and wanted a second opinion). That JPQF would spend all LJF money on drugs and put up his nose. My contention was that it was unlikely as JPQF had stopped that lifestyle and was now a Jehovah Witness again. Better for LJF to have some life rather than being stuck in a home, drugged up with the prospect of going to hospital from 'time to time'.

MAF then went into a tirade of banging the desk continuously, getting up pacing about shouting and swearing agiain continuously for 5 - 10 minutes, threatening me and standing behind me shouting. Once we all took a break I was advised to leave before Martin started a fight. I did leave.

Martin resigned from all LJF Trusts and LJF got his money. MAF's cover was blown when LJF realised what had happened with his previous will. LJF altered his will soon after. We were all surprised. TDSF being the oldest was particularly annoyed when LJF previous will came to light.

MAF phoned the office the next day and made additional threats about not paying not only LJF but also JPQF and CJWF from another trust

JPQF used to call MAF a liar, cheat and thief. His tactics were to strong arm people with bullying tactics to get his own way if nothing else worked.

The Grove Tompkins then came up with a strange and most bizarre suggestion that TDSF and CJWF resign from some Trusts putting MAF in sole charge. TDSF & CJWF remaining on others. I said why and no. I had acted properly MAF had not. It was I thought some face saving for MAF. It was nothing of the sort. It later came out it was MAF's suggestion to benefit himself and his son. GTB must have been aware

LJF eventually sold his house and moved to Wales with JPQF - at the second attempt.

Although I knew after the first time it is a trap I still fall into.

MAF tactics are to suggest something at A, get you to compromise at B or C and then take everything. With MAF he will deny A so you will not having any agreement you thouht you had at A. You have to get it exactly right and in writing. The alternative is he will just attack as the best form of defence and then the lies will follow one after the other. He has done that in this case several times.
